About the Trade Testing Board Sindh (TTBS)

Our Purpose

The Trade Testing Board Sindh (TTBS) serves as a Qualification awarding Body for the assessment and certification of vocational skills throughout Sindh. It functions under the jurisdiction of the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) and plays a critical role in the implementation of the National Vocational & Qualifications Framework (NVQF).

Its primary function is to award vocational and occupational qualifications by conducting trade tests for individuals trained through formal, informal, and non-formal pathways.

Registration & Application Process

How to register and apply for TTBS services

Institute Affiliation

Private Vocational Training Organizations aiming for legitimacy and formal recognition from a Qualification Awarding Body (QAB) may apply for affiliation with TTB Sindh.

Public institutes functioning under the mandate of STEVTA are considered affiliated by default. However, if such institutes offer vocational programs beyond the DAE programs, they may apply for a formal affiliation certificate to validate those additional offerings.

Candidate Registration

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility criteria for candidates vary depending on the specific program, institution, and level of Vocational qualification. Generally, criteria include academic qualifications, Age and physical health for few qualifications.

Required Documents:

Documents required for candidate registration typically are NIC, Academic qualification certificate e.g SSC & Portfolio of Prior Learning in case of RPL & RPS

Fee Structure:

Registration fees for National Vocational assessment Rs.500. For Traditional programs, the charges varies from Rs. 300 to 500

Institute Renewal Process

Annual renewal requirements for affiliated institutes

Renewal Overview

Annual Renewal is mandatory for continued certification authority. The renewal process ensures that affiliated vocational training organizations maintain compliance with standards and continue delivering quality training.

Process: RTO Manager may obtain the Affiliation Renewal Form from the Registrar, TTB Sindh or Download & submit the completed form in person or via courier to the TTB office.

Important: Institutes offering new trades or expanded programs must declare them during renewal. Non-compliance on Time may result in suspension or cancellation of affiliation.

Assessment Procedures for NVQs

Structured process for evaluating vocational skills

Assessment Overview

The NVQF assessment procedures applied by TTB Sindh are designed to provide a structured and rigorous process for evaluating and certifying vocational skills, contributing to the development of a competent workforce.

Types of Assessments:

  • Formative (or Modular) Assessment
  • Summative (or Integrated) Assessment

Tools used for assessment (or evidence guides) are available on NAVTTC website.

Certification & Results

Certification standards and result processing

Certification Framework

TTB Sindh certifies individuals in technical and vocational skills based on national standards. These certifications are structured around:

  • National Occupational Skill Standards (NOSS) for traditional certifications
  • National Vocational Qualifications Framework (NVQF) for internationally recognized qualifications
  • Targeted cluster-based skills certifications

Results are updated after each assessment cycle. Upon finalization, institutes are notified and certificates are issued accordingly.

Passing Criteria:

  • For NVQF-based qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate competency across all modular and integrated assessments as per the defined skill standards.
  • For NOSS and other traditional qualifications: Candidates must achieve the minimum required marks in both Skill and Knowledge examinations.

Appeals Process: Candidates who are dissatisfied with their results may submit an appeal to the Secretary of TTB Sindh, accompanied by supporting documentation that highlights their concerns.

Quality Assurance & Moderation

Ensuring fair and consistent assessment standards

Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance and Moderation are two interconnected processes used by the TTBS to ensure that assessments are fair, consistent, and aligned with established standards.

Purpose of Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain and improve the reliability, validity, and fairness of assessment and learning outcomes
  • Ensure that Vocational assessments reflect real workplace standards
  • Support Training providers and STEVTA in maintaining credibility and trust in their operation

Purpose of Moderation:

  • Achieve consistency in assessment judgments across different assessors, institutions, or environments
  • Ensure that a student assessed in Larkana is judged by the same standards as one in Hala
  • Maintain fairness and transparency in Vocational assessment frameworks like NVQF

Qualification Development

Process for developing new vocational qualifications

Development Process

Developing a vocational qualification within the framework of National Vocational Qualifications Framework (NVQF) is a structured, multi-phase process designed to align training with labor market needs and ensure quality and relevance.

The simplified Procedure for the development of Cluster/Short Term Training program contents includes:

  1. Identify the industry need (Skill Gap)
  2. Develop the Skill Standards
  3. Design the Curriculum
  4. Propose the Qualification to QAB

Document Services

Duplicate documents, verification, and correction services

Duplicate Document Issuance
  1. Download official "Duplicate" Form from TTB Sindh's website.
  2. Complete the form
  3. Attach Required Documents
    • Attested copy of CNIC or B-Form
    • Attested copy of the certificate or marksheet to be verified
    • Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 200 per document in favor of Secretary TTB Sindh
  4. Submit it in person in the Account office
  5. Collect the Duplicate document on scheduled date given on the receipt
Document Verification
  1. Download official "Verification" Form from TTB Sindh's website for verification of documents issued by TTB Sindh
  2. Complete the form
  3. Attach Required Documents
    • The document to be verified along with photocopy
    • Attested copy of CNIC or B-Form
    • Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 300 per document in favor of Secretary TTB Sindh
  4. Submit it in person in the Account office
  5. Collect the Verified document on scheduled date given on the receipt
Certificate Endorsement

For certificates issued to attendees by Institutions affiliated with TTBS for endorsement Programs:

  1. Apply for the endorsement certificate of short-term Training program(s)
  2. Attach Required Documents
    • Original Certificates to be endorsed
    • Hard and soft Excel copies of certified attendees' data
    • Attested copy of CNIC or B-Form for all attendees
    • Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 500 per document in favor of Secretary TTB Sindh
  3. Submit Endorsement fees in the Account office
  4. Collect the Endorsed certificates on scheduled date given on the receipt
Document Correction
  1. Download official "Correction" Form from TTB Sindh's website
  2. Complete the form
  3. Attach Required Documents
    • The document to be Corrected
    • Attested copy of CNIC or B-Form
    • Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 300 per document in favor of Secretary TTB Sindh
  4. Submit it in person in the Account office
  5. Collect the Verified document on scheduled date given on the receipt
